Forum on Contemporary Issues in Law: From the Frying Pan into the Fire?

Dear Students and Participants,

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the first event of the Forum on Contemporary Issues in Law (FCIL) for the year 2023. With the aim of stimulating critical intellectual engagement among the students of the Department of Law and the wider society, we have invited scholars from diverse backgrounds to deliver lectures and lead discussions at this forum.

We are honored to present Ms. Ambika Satkunanathan, the former Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, as our esteemed Guest Speaker for this event. Ms. Ambika brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of human rights, making her an ideal choice to shed light on the topic of our discussion.

Following the lecture, we encourage all attendees, including students and participants of FCIL, to actively engage in an interactive session. This will provide an opportunity for further exploration of the topic, the sharing of diverse viewpoints, and the exchange of ideas. The session aims to encourage critical thinking, broaden perspectives, and promote meaningful dialogue on the issues raised during the lecture.

We believe that the Forum on Contemporary Issues in Law serves as a platform for intellectual growth, fostering an environment where knowledge, awareness, and empathy thrive. It is our collective responsibility to engage with these crucial matters and contribute to positive change in our society.

Please mark your calendars and join us for this stimulating event. Together, we can delve deeper into the complexities of the legal and human rights landscape, enhancing our understanding and inspiring meaningful action.

We look forward to your active participation!
