Mrs. Purathani Mathanaranjan is an expert in the fields of women’s and land rights, gender, and climate change laws. She has a strong academic background in these areas and has in-depth knowledge of the issues and challenges facing women and other marginalized groups in relation to land rights and the impacts of climate change. She is well-versed in the laws and policies that impact these areas and is able to provide insightful analysis and recommendations for addressing these issues.

Mrs. Purathani Mathanaranjan is currently teaching a variety of subjects at the Department of Law at the University of Jaffna. These subjects include Law of Property, Family Law, Labour Law, Legal Systems, Human Rights Law, and Law of Delict. She brings her expertise in women’s and land rights, gender, and climate change laws to her teaching, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of these complex and important areas of law. She is a dedicated and experienced educator, committed to helping her students develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their careers in the legal field.

Resource person for the workshop on Key Principles and Laws Relating to Land and Property in Sri Lanka for the Land Mediators of Jaffna District organized by the Ministry of Justice on 13th June 2016.

Mrs. Purathani demonstrated her commitment to academic excellence and administrative efficiency by actively serving as a member of the Curriculum Development Committee for the Department of Law at the University of Jaffna.

Her contributions were further highlighted by her participation on a committee specifically organized to draft the University Calendar for the University of Jaffna, where she played a vital role in creating by-laws on students’ discipline, which were integrated into the University Calendar for the 2017/2018 academic year.
