The Department of Law, University of Jaffna, in collaboration with the Law Alumni Association of the University of Jaffna, successfully hosted a special address by the Attorney General of Sri Lanka on\u00a009 June 2026\u00a0at the\u00a0Kailasapathy Auditorium, University of Jaffna.<\/p>\n

The lecture, titled \u201cAttorney General: The Prosecutorial Discretion,\u201d provided participants with valuable insights into the powers, responsibilities, and decision-making processes of the Attorney General in the administration of criminal justice. The session highlighted the significance of prosecutorial discretion in ensuring fairness, accountability, and the rule of law, which was followed by a Q&A session.<\/p>\n

The Department of Law extends its sincere appreciation to the Attorney General for sharing his knowledge and experience, and to the Law Alumni Association and all participants who contributed to the success of this memorable academic event.<\/p>\n
