About the Department of Law<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The University when it was established in 1974 had approval for the establishment of three faculties (Humanities, Law and Science) and one department (Physical Education). However the introduction of law as an academic discipline at the university took three decades to materialize and finally in 2005 the LL.B degree programme commenced with a Department of Law set up under the aegis of the Faculty of Arts.
